3 components to most DIY Cloth Wipe Solutions:

•Water-The main ingredient that will dilute other ingredients

•Oil– To help wipe move smoothly across your baby’s skin and keeps skin soft.

•Soap-Cleans the skin

**Optional ingredients**

•Essential Oils– Added for cleansing properties and/or aromatherapy purposes. (keep in mind some babies are sensitive to certain oils, i.e. tree tea oil)

•Vinegar– used for anti-fungal properties and is said to help slow down mold growth. (will sting if used on raw rash)

*If baby has a diaper rash, it’s best to use plain water

Common Methods for Storing & Applying Cloth Wipes:

•Wet Method- Hold wipes in an empty disposable baby wipes container or a wipe warmer unit. Either soak wipes in solution and place in container or pour over wipes in the container.

•Dry Method- Use a spray bottle to apply the solution directly on to baby and then wipe dry. Or you can spray bottle to a dry wipe, and then use the wipe to clean baby.

* Keep your cloth wipe container mildew free by checking and cleaning out daily or every other day and rotating wipes (First in First out Rule). Make small batches to help with mustiness. 

Recipes:

Basic Wipes Recipe (I use this one)
2 cups hot water
2 tablespoons baby wash or shampoo (I use Nature’s Baby Organics Shampoo & Body Wash Lavender/Chamomile. It already smells great so no need to add extra smell good ingredients.)
2 tablespoons oil (baby oil or olive oil)

Aloe Vera Wipes Recipe
2 cups hot water
2 tablespoons baby wash or shampoo
2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons of aloe gel

Anti-Fungal Baby Wipes
1 cups hot water
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/4 cup Aloe Vera Gel
1 tablespoon Calendula Oil
few drops of drops Lavender or Chamomile Oil
few drops of Tea Tree Oil or Grape Seed Extract
