Gluten Free Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits Recipe
If you have been to Red Lobster and experienced the deliciousness of their cheddar biscuit then you know why I would want to make a copycat recipe! For those of you who have not had the most delicious biscuit known to man, just take my word for it, they are to die for! For my Gluten Free people out there I do not want you to miss out either. Do not fret because I have the recipe for you! My husband, who has Celiac, can eat almost a whole batch himself. He really missed those biscuits when first diagnosed so he gets his fill when I make them!
Ingredients for biscuit mix:
2 ½ cups Gluten Free baking mix
1 cup cold milk (I use Rice Milk)
4 tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick) (earth balance buttery spread)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Brush on Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter, melted
½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
2. Combine and mix gf baking mix with cold butter in a bowl. Add cheddar cheese, milk and garlic. Mix by hand.
3. Drop ¼-cup portions of the dough onto sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Optional, grease paper with a little olive oil.
4. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and add brush on ingredients. Bake for 5 minutes or until tops are light golden brown.
Makes 8 biscuits if you make them exactly ¼-cup portions.
These are great served with seafood or Italian meals.

Star Wars Kids Party Ideas ~ Printable Star Wars Party Labels
I’m sharing my oldest son’s 5th Birthday Star Wars Party!
I purchased both my boys a Star Wars costume. It was 8 months before Halloween so I figured I would definitely get my moneys worth out of these costumes!
I served hamburgers, fruit tray, chex mix party mix, chips, and drinks. Pretty standard party food, but I wanted to have those cute Star Wars Food Labels. We had Hans Burgers, Jedi Mix, Yoda Soda, and a Wookie Cookie!
I made these fun labels. You can print and use them at your next Star Wars Party!
Free For Personal Use Only: Click on Picture and Save or Print!
I used these labels to make centerpieces. Just tape them to a toothpick and place inside a balloon weight.
For the cakes I bought them from the grocery store. We had them write Wookie Cookie on it and placed one of my son’s toy Chewbacca on it! I love Cookie Cakes and have them at every party!
My father in law and brother in law were both just as excited about the Star Wars theme party! They actually volunteered and paid to rent costumes! They are awesome and I didn’t ask how much they cost to rent. I’m guessing $50-$75. I had the Star Wars theme music playing when they made their entrance!
We had so much fun playing with the Darth Vader and Chewbacca mask!
For party favors I bought Star Wars Coloring books and other Star Wars merchandise from the dollar store and dollar bins from Target. I also printed and cut out these free mask from http://starwarsblog.starwars.com! No longer on there but you can get them here now Geek Mom Mashup.
The party was a huge success and lots of fun!
The Natural Challenge: Switching to Natural Makeup Easier then I thought!
Welcome to the June 2013 Natural Living Blog Carnival: A Natural Challenge.
This post was written for inclusion in the monthly Natural Living Blog Carnival hosted by Happy Mothering and The Pistachio Project through the Green Moms Network. This month, our members took 1-2 weeks to explore a natural practice that they had yet to try. Today, they’re going to tell you about their experience! Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration to try something new on one or more of the posts.

One thing you should know about me is I am a “makeup girl”! Not because I think I’m ugly and need it; it’s just how my mom raised me. She always told me to never go out in public without a little something on, and she never does and neither do I. I feel so weird if I don’t have at least eyeliner on. Ok, I will go through a drive thru….but with sunglasses on! So this challenge was a very scary idea for me.
I have already given almost everything else in my house a “Green Makeover”, and have been putting this one off for 2 reasons: 1. I didn’t want to just throw away my old “not so natural” makeup and 2. I was afraid…very afraid of my “natural” makeup face!
To get started I did research on which makeup to choose. I started at the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Database to find a makeup with a low rating for the hazards of ingredients. I also read the ingredients on my own. I decided to go with the brand Erth Mineral Makeup. The ingredients are minimal & natural and the prices were very reasonable.
They were offering some good deals that I took advantage of…of course!
•free mineral makeup samples of foundations and veils with a minimum order.
•With any order over $25.00, receive 2 free samples!
•FREE SHIPPING FOR ALL US ORDERS OVER $55 USD
The package arrived nicely packaged and carefully wrapped in pretty tissue papers. The packaging had a small business feel, which I personally like.
Challenge On:
I usually wear liquid foundation and loose powder. I had to get use the mineral make up twirl, tap, brush technique, but I got it down pretty easily.
I like to use a concealer stick; I substituted that with Mineral concealers. You have to figure out which Mineral concealer (5 different colors) is right for your needs and skin tone. I opted for the concealer sample kit so I can figure it out by trial.
I also switched all my pressed eyeshadow and blush for a mineral makeup.
Turns out my pencil eyeliner, browliner, and lipliner scored well on EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetic Database so I didn’t have to replace those.
I never wear mascara or lipstick (just chap stick, sometimes with a liner for color).
I also purchased natural brushes that I would need for my mineral makeup from Ecotools.
The Results
I really love it! The first few days my face was actually breaking out more, but I think it’s because my face was detoxifying. My face was able to push out all that oily yuck from my old “not so natural” makeup….gross! It’s been almost 3 weeks and my skin looks better then ever! I have always had black head and pores on my nose, but not now! My pores are so small on my nose and I have hardly any black heads. I never thought it was possible, no matter how much I cleaned my face before.
The coverage is great and I have a pretty natural look! I am happy with all the products I purchased and I am defiantly converted to natural makeup only! It was so easy really, not much of challenge after all!
Here’s a recent picture with my natural makeup on.
I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

Wordless Wednesday- Getting Ready for Father’s Day
Making blueberry Muffins.
Printer was out of color ink. We used black ink and colored them! I think it actually came out more cute this way!
Had great answers for Questionnaire!
FYI- almost impossible to hand print a 2 month old baby. Let’s just say my husband had to help with his own gift. Haha!

Gluten Free Strawberry Cake
My husband loves strawberry cake and for some reason they do not make a Strawberry Gluten Free Cake Mix. I prefer baking to be as simple as possible so I am primarily a cake box baker, so I had to improvise! I bought Pamela’s Vanilla Cake Mix and added fresh strawberries to the mix. I pretty much followed the instructions from the package with a few changes.
This turns out perfect and delicious!
Ingredients:
1 vanilla cake mix
3 large eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup of water (calls for 2/3 but with liquid from strawberries I reduced it)
8 strawberries pureed
Optional 1/4 teaspoon almond flavoring
Optional few drops of red food coloring to make it pretty
Baking Directions:
Cook at 325° for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool and add a gluten free icing (most icing are gluten free) I prefer vanilla for this cake. Then top with fresh cut strawberries!
